Nine years after their last record Entertainmentmulti-instrumentalist Warren Fischer and singer-songwriter Casey Spooner have resurfaced with their most intimate collection yet, an unflinchingly raw portrait of pleasure and pain. Following the dissolution of a year relationship, Casey Spooner was recently quoted in BlackBook magazine as having stepped into his "summer of not EatPrayLovebut live, tan, fuck".
This looser, rock-based album is built on soaring melodies and swarms of sounds - garage, surf, punk and pop - resulting in a collection of songs Spooner calls "the most emotional work I may have ever made. Within a few hours, Spooner had written the pop confection "Cinnamon Toast. Hence, a surprise solo album was born.

Just a year after Fischerspooner 's last album - their worst according to many people - Casey Spoonerfrontman and heart of the band, shows up again by himself. His first solo album, proudly self-produced, is called Adult Contemporary and will be released on January 25th, but forget about the synths and danceable rhythms that the bishops of electro-clash had gotten us used to. This album sounds like pop rock and contains the "most personal and intimate stuff I have ever written", admits Spoonera fragile but ironic album, without sequins or glitter, a bit Lou Reed a bit The Killers, with different guitars.
